Dan Greenburg, Recording Secretary

Dan Greenburg was born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Beach and Oceanside. Dan and his wife, Ivy, have been members of Merrick Jewish Centre since 1985. He has been involved in many committees, having co-founded the MJC Employment Network Committee, and served on the Chesed Committee and the Nominating Committee. He currently co-chairs the Long Range Planning Committee. Once a month he delivers lasagna made by the MJC Chesed culinary team to a food kitchen in Freeport.

After graduating from Lehigh University, Dan began his career in Information Technology in 1970 working for Nassau County as a computer programmer while going to Brooklyn Law School in the evenings. After obtaining a law degree in 1974, he practiced law for 4 years and then decided to return to the IT industry.
In 1986, he helped found the National Association of Computer Consulting Businesses, which is a national trade association of companies that provide computer consultants. Since then and up to 2002, he served on many national and local committees and on the National Board as Benefits Chairman. In 1989, he founded The Allegiance Group with the view of providing high quality technical consultants to its clients. The company grew quickly to become an organization with an internal staff of 20 employees supporting over 150 consultants who worked at the clients sites throughout the tri-state area. In 1995, Allegiance was selected to the Inc. 500 as one of the 500 fastest growing companies in the United States.
In 2002, Mr. Greenburg sold Allegiance and is currently a semi-retired consultant helping small growing businesses get to the next level. He serves on the Board of Directors of All Sector Technologies, a systems integration firm specializing in serving not-for-profit corporations.

He is also the Treasurer and an active volunteer for the My Own Book Fund, which takes third grade children in need to local bookstores where they are each given $50 to purchase their very own books. He also serves on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, a not- for-profit organization dedicated to mentoring children from single parent homes.
