Hebrew High School (7-12)

Our Hebrew School continues through seventh grade with a reduced schedule in order to accommodate our seventh graders’ busy middle school schedules.  Hebrew High 7 comprises a six to seven session seminar focusing on Bar/Bat Mitzvah meaning, identity and preparations for the students and their parents as well as weekly attendance (for students only) in our Merrick Community Hebrew High School.

The Merrick Community Hebrew High School, for students in grades 7 - 12, integrates Reform, Conservative and Orthodox students and teachers from four Merrick synagogues. It meets on Tuesday nights for the entire school year.  We are blessed with the opportunity to have our students join together to learn about and explore Judaism as young adults who come from the entire Merrick/Bellmore community.

For the school year beginning in Fall 2017, Merrick Community Hebrew High School will take place at Temple Beth Am, 2377 Merrick Avenue (corner of Merrick Avenue and Kirkwood Avenue).   ** For drop-off and pick-up, enter the parking lot only from the driveway on Merrick Avenue; exit only onto Kirkwood Avenue.  **

Class hours are 7:00 - 8:35PM.

For more information, contact the Merrick Jewish Centre Hebrew School Office:  (516) 378-8384

See MJC Calendar for class dates.

Note that the Merrick Community Hebrew High School will not meet when the Merrick School District has cancelled classes and/or as announced on News 12 Long Island.

Classes begin on Tuesday, October 10, at 7:00PM.
