Members of our congregation celebrate all stages of the Jewish life cycle at Merrick Jewish Centre. If you are fortunate enough to have an upcoming simcha in your family and want to share it with members of the congregation, please contact the synagogue office so that we can help make this happen.
We celebrate new life with a brit milah for boys and baby naming for girls. An upcoming marriage is celebrated with an Auf Ruf. The groom receives an aliyah to the Torah and the bride and groom are blessed at the Torah by our Rabbi a week or two before their wedding ceremony takes place. Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations are a treasured part of the Jewish life cycle. Children who have completed the required course of study in our Hebrew School are called to the Torah after their 13th Hebrew birthday and accept the mitzvot.
Any and all special occasions in the lives of our congregants may be celebrated with your congregational family. Remember that the joy of each family is multiplied when shared.
