Lisa Aamodt has been actively involved as a Jewish professional for eleven years -- and loves every moment of it. Her experience is strongly based in experiential Jewish education in classrooms, youth programs, children’s Shabbat programs and early childhood programming.
Lisa runs various fun and engaging programs at the Merrick Jewish Centre, including Shabbat Alive!, youth group activities for third through twelfth graders, and PJ Library events for children from six months through eight years old. Lisa also serves as a Hebrew school and Hebrew high school educator for the Merrick community, and is the leader of the innovative “Rosh Hodesh; It’s A Girl Thing” program.
Lisa has led various workshops including "Making Junior Congregation come Alive at your Synagogue" at the New Caje Conference 2012 and "PJ Library Program Marketing and Outreach" at the PJ Library Conference 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management of technology and is enrolled in a program to receive a master’s degree in Elementary Education and Administration.
